Many of you know that Miami’s Golf team is unique among Miami’s sports in that it is required to be self-supporting. The program is completely funded by gifts, donations, and fundraisers. One of those fundraisers is coming up, and you can participate! The Friends of Miami Golf Fundraiser will be held on May 12, 2008 at Brown’s Run Country Club in Middletown.

Entry fee for the event is $250 per person and includes greens fee, cart, range balls, lunch, beverages, dinner and a player gift. The format is a four-person scramble with Gross and Net Divisions.

According to Coach John Wiler, “We rely on private gifts and fund raising events to operate the golf program, so your support is vital for our success. The proceeds from this event offset scholarship costs and provide educational opportunities for our student-athletes. Your participation will directly impact a very deserving group of student-athletes who represent Miami in a first class manner.”
