The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2010 PROSPECT: Travis plays both WR and CB in High School but projects as a CB in college.  His first offer comes from Kansas State but Miami didn’t wait long to offer soon after.  NC State, Maryland, UCF, Wake Forest and Wisconsin are also recruiting Travis.

1.9.09 ESPN Southeast Recruiting Blog by JC Shurburtt

Class of 2010 defensive back Travis Williams (Cooper City, Fla./Cooper City) picked up his first scholarship offer last week, from Kansas State, and is getting attention from Duke, Wake Forest, Penn State, Rutgers, North Carolina State and Central Florida, among others.

The 5-foot-10, 175-pounder had 43 tackles, five interceptions and 10 pass break-ups during his junior season. He also caught 15 passes for 425 yards and five touchdowns offensively and had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown on special teams.

Williams attended the Under Armour Underclassman Combine last Sunday in Orlando. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.5 seconds, posted a 4.0 second shuttle and had a 35-inch vertical leap.

2.26.09 ESPN Recruiting Trail

Safety/athlete Travis Williams picked up an offer from Miami (Ohio), according to ESPN’s JC Shurburtt.

The Red Hawks join Kansas State. He’s also getting attention from Central Florida, South Florida, Wake Forest and others.
