About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2009 Prospect:  Danny originally committed to Cincinnati, but recent decommitted.  He is ranked by Hoops Report as the #131 player in the nation.  McElroy averaged 14.2 points and 7.0 rebounds a game this past season as a La Salle junior. As a sophomore, he averaged 10.3 points and 5.1 rebounds.

Princeton Will Be Scary in 2008-09 (and could get scarier!)

Power forward Danny McElroy is rumored to be transfering to Cincinnati Princeton High School from Cincinnati LaSalle High School.  That would give the Vikings five players that Miami is recruiting.

BACKCOURT

2009 6-1 PG Orlando Williams - offers from Miami, BGSU.

2010 6-3 2G Jordan Siebert - Already offered by Miami, Xavier, BGSU, and Miami-FLA.

FRONTCOURT

2009 6-6 SF Marquis Horne - no known offers yet, but besides Miami, he has received interest from BGSU, Tennessee Tech, Missouri, Xavier, and Wisconsin.

2009 6-6 PF/SF Stephon Johnson - was once ranked by Hoopscoop as #62 in the nation.

2009 6-7 PF Danny McElroy - Recently decommitted to UC.  Is ranked by Hoops Report as the #131 player in the nation.

Danny took a visit to Miami on 6.4.08 and has a Miami offer

By the way, it appears that Danny will remain at LaSalle HS and will not transfer to Princeton as previously suggested.
