2009 PROSPECT: Miami has recently offered. Ranked as the #4 2009 center in Ohio in the Winter, 2007 edition of Prep Spotlight Magazine. Ranked #348 in the nation by Hoops Scoop as a high school sophomore. Drew has interest from almost every MAC school as well as Davidson, N.C. State, Stanford, Dayton, Kentucky, and Wisconsin. May, 2008: Plays with his back to the basket. Good hands and solid post moves, nice jump hook. Needs the weight room. Runs ok but needs more stamina. I would like to see him move more and face the basket on the high post and short corner. Plays hard and works on the glass. Ok rebounder but needs to get better. He is a very talented player who will get better with time and strength.

One prospect that really started to make a name for himself this weekend at the Pittsburgh Jam Fest was North Ridgeville (Ohio) center/power forward Drew McGhee. The 6-foot-10, 220-pound McGhee played for the Ohio-based Team CBIZ and showed a wide range of skills, including some dominance in the post. He's a member of the Class of 2009. In a Sunday morning game against the Illinois-based Full Package Select, McGhee had his way with 7-foot center Kyle Rowley. McGhee is one to watch for the future. Just about every school in the MAC was in attendance at the game but as several scouts noted: It won't be long until McGhee he'will be getting a lot higher offers than the MAC. McGhee said he holds offers from Toledo, Akron, Western Michigan and Bowling Green. He said other schools that have already shown a lot of interest are Stanford, Davidson, North Carolina State, Wisconsin, Florida, and Kentucky. He's one I will keep tabs on for the rest of the spring and summer.
