About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Kramer Soderberg

Position PG Height 5-11 Weight 185 School St. Charles West Hometown St. Charles, MO Incoming Year 2008
Offered By UWGB, La Salle, Miami, Wichita State

Initially posted by NickSkin on 05/07/08 at 8:11 am

2008 PROSPECT: Son of former St. Louis head basketball coach Brad Soderberg.  Kramer Soderberg was one of eight nominees for the Mr. Show-Me Basketball award presented to the player of the year in Missouri by the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.  Soderberg, who was selected the Gatorade player of the year for Missouri and also the St. Louis Post-Dispatch player of the year, averaged 24.4 points and made 63 3-pointers while leading the Warriors to a second-place finish in Missouri’s Class 4. In his four years, St. Charles West went 97-20 and won four GAC North conference championships.  Kramer was originally slated to play for his father at St. Louis, however with the departure of his father his recruitment opened up.  Schools interested include: UWGB, Temple, Wichita State, Iowa, Tulsa, La Salle and Miami.

St. Louis Dispatch 2.19.08 "No One Works Harder than Soderberg"

"If he was 6-3, he’d probably be a McDonald’s All-American,’’ St. Charles West coach Terry Hollander said. "I had Ryan Robertson in 1995 and he was a McDonald’s All-American. The only difference was he was 6-4 compared to 5-11." Still, Soderberg is averaging 24.7 points a game and making two out of every three shots he takes. He’s just a shade under 50 percent on 3-point shots."His consistency is amazing,’’ Hollander said. "He basically goes out and puts up about the same numbers regardless. His percentages are fantastic, and in an awful lot of games, he has guarded the other team’s best player. He’s got that attitude. He wants the challenge. Nobody works at the game harder than he works at it."

Considered the #43 PG in the nation by ESPN’s Scout’s Inc for the class of 2008.  ESPN also assigns Kramer with a Scout’s Grade of “78”.  A grade of 78 equates to a “good prospect” as defined by ESPN:

70-79: Good Prospect
Player does not dominate in every game, especially when matched up against the top players in the country. Could become a good starter at the Division I level.
