Tyreak Johnson

Position PG Height 5-11 Weight 185 School St. Raymond Hometown Bronx, NY Incoming Year 2009

2009 PROSPECT: Tyreak Johnson plays AAU for national power NY Gauchos.  Here's an evaluation from ESPN's Scouts, Inc. (Player Rating of 80):

" Tyreak Johsnson is a steady guard who is an excellent shooter. He is not a true point guard, but will need to work on that to help him develop as a player. He can shoot from three and can shoot off the catch and off the dribble. Johnson also has a midrange game and is very good at getting to the foul line for his pull-up jumper. He has a college ready body and he has a chance to develop into a lockdown defender. Johnson needs to work on his decision making and his point guard skills to help improve his game.
Here's another evaluation by CAA Insider after the Primetime Shootout on 2/11/08:
"Tyreak is overshadowed by some of his more talented teammates, but he does run a solid point. He’s pretty strong and aggressive going at the hoop. He’ll often look for his teammates when attacking off the dribble. He doesn’t have the smoothest handle, but can get into the lane. He also ran the floor and scored several transition baskets.
Here's another evalution by CAA Insider after the Boo Williams on 4/17/08:
"Tyreak was rather quiet in this affair. He’s a steady, but not flashy guard. He had a steal on the defensive end. He also has a pretty nice crossover move. He was quiet in the scoring column though.
