About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Jonathan DeMoss

Position 2G Height 6-4 Weight School St. Charles North Hometown St. Charles, Illinois Incoming Year 2009

2009 PROSPECT:  The son of former Miami player Gary DeMoss, this 6-4 wing guard has taken an unofficial visit to Miami. Ranked by Rick Bolus as one of the "Top Underclassmen For 2007-2008" based on college potential.  Also named to the Batavia, Illinois All-Area team for 2007-08.  Here is an evaluation from that article:

DeMoss has always been able to slash to the basket and score. In his third varsity season, the 6-foot-4 wing developed the more subtle aspects of his game. Along with all-area honorable metnion Nick Neari, DeMoss broke down opposing defenses and distributied the ball. Helping with the playmaking duties didn’t diminish his energy one bit and DeMoss remained a strong rebounder as well.
He also continued to get to the basket, as his 112 free throws attest. “I think Jon has made a giant step forward every year he’s been on varsity,” St. Charles North coach Tom Poulin  said, “and this year is no exception. He became our primary ballhandler. He had to pick his spots on when to attack and when to get other people involved. He’s getting better every game and every practice.”
