2008 PROSPECT: Originally from Evansville, IN, McFarland is now playing a year of prep school at Bridgton Prep. Apparently, McFarland was on his way to Purdue but eligibility stood in the way. Former Purdue Assistant Coach Cunzo Martin directed McFarland to prep school. Here is one evaluation:
"The Indiana native is one of the best dribble drive players around. He plays with toughness as he attacks the paint hard and challenges shot blockers when finishing around the cup. He has had interest from a variety of mid-majors and even some high-majors. McFarland remains in attack mode on the offensive end whenever he plays, easily scoring in a variety of ways. He works very well off the bounce, consistently connecting on the mid-range pull-up. He also has the ability to knock down the 3-point shot. McFarland, despite having point-guard height, has a shooting guard's mentality and will play better as a two on the next level. He will need to add strength and muscle to his thin frame and needs to work on incorporating his teammates better on offense, as he has a tendency to look for his own offense a little too much at times."Rival$ Profile $cout Profile *** OFFICIAL VISIT: April 18-20, 2008
