2009 PROSPECT: Chicago Hoops.com says that Jack is a 6-8 post that brings size, athleticism and a willingness to bang inside to the table. This year, while competing on the spring and summer travel team circuit with the 16-U Rising Stars, Cooley anchored the post on a star-studded Rising Stars team that also included Illinois-bound Jereme Richmond, Chris Colvin (Chicago Whitney Young), Marcus Jordan (Chicago Whitney Young), Nik Garcia (Niles West) and Cortney Bell (Chicago Lincoln Park).  Considered the #1 prospect by Joyofthegame.com for players north and northwest of Chicago.  Here is one scouting report on Cooley:

Cooley comes into the season as the top post player in the CSL, and arguably the top junior in the league. The versatile 6-8 power forward will be the anchor for a Glenbrook South team that has high hopes for this season, as they have a very talented, well rounded squad. Cooley is big, strong, and tough on the blocks, and is a superb rebounder and shot blocker. He also has a very nice touch around the hoop. Cooley is being recruited by a host of D1 schools including Southern Illinois, and Northwestern.
