3.1 GPA for this Pro-Style QB. As a Junior passed for 2,000 yards, 53%, 25 TD’s, 7 INT’s. Has early interest from Miami, BC, Mich, ND, Ohio State, Iowa, UofL, Pitt, Syracuse and Virginia. Max Emfinger has Rudy a 4-Star player/one of the top 22 dropback QB’s in the nation and he should be considered one of the top-3 QB’s in Ohio next season. Considered one of 4 Ohio QB’s thought to be up for the Ohio “scholarship” to the Elite 11 camp (others are Hartline, Nate Davis and Miles Schlichter). Hoopscoop has Kirbus as one of the top 300 basketball players in the nation.

This summer, Rudy attended 7 camps starting in Ann Arbor at the Nike camp and then he went to six other camps. Kirbus says “I went to Indiana, Miami, Boston College, Ohio State, Virginia, and Michigan. “I liked them all. I would be happy at any one of those places really. It’s hard to pick a favorite because you don’t really know that much about them all right now. I really like them all at this point.” Kirbus feels like the camps were instrumental in showing college coaches what he can do on the field. “I am just a heady player,” said Kirbus. “I throw a good deep ball and I am accurate. I am not super-athletic, but when I have to I can run it and get the first down. I just have a good feel for the game I think.” Currently the schools involved in Kirbus’ recruitment include Miami, Indiana, BC, Virginia, Michigan, as well some other MAC schools. At this point he doesn’t have any scholarship offers or any leaders in his recruitment. “I have no offers right now, because they all said they want to see some more of me this upcoming season,” said Kirbus. That’s fine with Kirbus, because he is still trying to sort out which program will be best for him. When the offers do come this fall, he knows what he will be looking for in a school.

Despite throwing for 1,900 yards and 25 touchdowns as a junior and 1,800 yards so far in 2005, Kirbus has yet to receive a single scholarship offer. Miami, Iowa, Ball State, Villanova and Richmond have all been calling on a regular basis and Rudy will until after the season to take some visits.
