About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

One of the top QB prospects for the 2006 class is now getting interest from Purdue, Notre Dame, Iowa, and Miami. He is going to Purdue’s junior day this weekend and will also stop by Notre Dame on Sunday.  As a JR, Aaron passed for 1700 yards, completed 60% of his passes, had 14 TD’s and 6 INT’s. This summer he will camp at Iowa, Purdue, Ohio State and Miami.  Aaron’s father played at Miami so there is a natural interest.  Newark HC says the following on Aaron’s strength’s and weaknesses: As far as strengths, he has every intangible you could hope for,” he said. “He’s a great leader, he’s unselfish, he has the respect of all of his teammates. And this might sound strange to say this about a quarterback, but he’s the toughest kid I’ve ever coached. I think he’ll stay at quarterback in college, but he would be a blue-chip safety prospect.  We don’t play him much on defense, but some schools have already asked about him playing safety. He’s smart with the football, he’s accurate and he has a tremendous work ethic.  “As far as weaknesses, there’s not a whole lot, but I would say sometimes he reverts back to throwing the ball sidearmed. He is also a pitcher in baseball and sometimes he’ll drop that arm down a little bit.”
