Emerson Kampen

Position PF Height 6-9 Weight 210 School Yorktown Hometown Yorktown, IN Incoming Year 2008
Offered By Wisconsin-Green Bay, IPFW, Fairfield and Middle Tennessee State

2008 PROSPECT: One of the under the radar big men in the state of Indiana for the class of 2008 is Emerson Kampen. Kampen is a versatile forward for the northern part of the state who has a very high skill level. Things are still early in the recruiting process for him, but he is still get significant interest from several programs around the area.  The biggest knock on Kampen since he entered high school is the fact that he isn't physical. Though he stands 6-foot-9, Kampen has done much of his damage from the mid-range and beyond the arc in his career.  However at his team's first tournament in Arkansas, Kampen showed more of a willingness to go into the paint on the offensive end. With that improved strength and willingness to go into the post, Kampen has seen more interest from the college coaches. However at the moment he has already received significant attention. He has been hearing from Miami, Dayton, Xavier, Butler, IPFW, Ball State, Lehigh, and several other schools.  Here's a 6.26.07 Star Press Article on Emerson:

Kampen, who will be a senior in the fall, is scheduled to make stops at Miami, Loyola (Chicago), Wisconsin-Green Bay and Wright State. Before the summer began, he already had visited Ball State, Xavier, Dayton, Butler and IPFW.  Kampen has received scholarship offers from Wisconsin-Green Bay, IPFW, Fairfield and Middle Tennessee State.
