2008 PROSPECT: Not the quickest or highest jumping big man out there, but Pritchard, a 2008 prospect, knows how to play. He does a nice job carving out position inside and finishes plays with poise. He clearly outplayed Georgetown bound **** 2008 prospect Henry Sims (6’10" 215lber from Baltimore’s Mount St. Joseph H.S.) in the Beach Ball Classic December 2006.  Plays with Delvin Roe.  A lefty who since a young age who’s played against older, stronger and smarter players says that’s helped his game flourish.  Pritchard is averaging 15.0 points and 7.7 rebounds.

Unofficial Visits: June 2007 and August 26, 2007).
Official Visits: Penn State (9/7/07) IU (9/15/07) Miami (9/29/07)

Pritchard starting off his Vegas run with strong performances.  $cout.com 7.23.07 “RBK Summer Championships: Sunday" checks in:

Over the course of a year Pritchard has developed into a solid-mid level power forward. He won’t overwhelm you with athleticism or even his post moves, but he is efficient in the post and loves to spin and go up with his left. Against the LA Dream Team, the 6-foot-8 rising senior went for 14 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the field.

according to Scout:

Tom Pritchard is getting interest from Western Carolina, Vermont, Albany, Cleveland State, Bucknell, Penn State and Miami

Tom Pritchard kicking butt in Vegas including teaching an Arizona Wildcat recruit (Brandon Jennings) a little about post defense! He also played well against what some rank as the #1 2009 player in the nation...Renardo Sidney. From Hoops Report.com:

Tom Pritchard 6’8 PF King of the Court- Pritchard made a name for himself when he held his own against Renardo Sidney in a game yesterday.  He proved that yesterday’s performance wasn’t a fluke with his solid play today.  In one sequence in the second half he blocked Brandon Jennings and then ran the length of the court and received a pass for a layup.  Pritchard also finished a play inside with a spin move and even stepped out and knocked down a trifecta.  His combination of size, skill, and activeness has his stock rising from mid-major to big-league prospect.

Tom now has over 30 offers including as Indiana and Virginia have recently offered.  Accolades from his play in July are piling up:

Ranked #19 prospect at RBK Championships by NBA Draft.net

19. Tom Pritchard 6’8 Lakewood, Ohio (King of Court)
Terrific ability to manufacture shots around the paint. Can use either hand well, loves the glass, can turn n’ face and pop it from 17ft. and a decent rebounder. Will never be considered as athletic but very crafty and totally outplayed 2009 elite junior Renardo Sidney in a head to head match up. A left-handed Brad Miller.

PrepSpotlight names Tom Pritchard as its #1 “hottest prospects this summer (fastest rising sleepers)

$cout.com review from Vegas:

*The two guys who don’t have mega reputations as prospects but who impressed me as much as anyone because of how relentlessly they played on every possession at both ends of the floor: Tom Pritchard (King of Court) and Delwan Graham (Atlanta Celtics)

$cout.com 8.17.07 “Pritchard Taking His Time"

08/27/07

Posted by NickSkin at 1:09 pm

Pritchard grades out at an “80” on ESPN.com’s ScoutInc.  He is also rated as the #36 PF in the Nation.  Here’s his player evaluation:

Pritchard has continued his ascent as an emerging big man in the Class of 2008. Prichard is a force on the boards and employs a physical brand of basketball to establich post position. He is improving as a scorer on the interior with solid foot work and post moves. He runs the court very well and seems to have an endless amount of energy. He will not blow you away with the spectacular, but he will make solid plays consistently.

Pritchard came on like gang busters this summer on the AAU circuit. He had everyone in Las Vegas talking about him and his recruitment skyrocketed because of it. Pritchard is 6?8, 230 lbs and is a very physical player. Tom is a very effective player in the low post. He has good ability to score in the paint with his back to the basket. But he can also step out to 12’-15’ range and knock down the mid-range jumpers. Pritchard knows how to use his body very well. He can really defend the power forward position because he utilizes a physical style of play, he is very strong and a deceptively athletic kid. He is much more nimble and agile than he first appears. In addition Pritchard pounds the boards and is relentless in his attack of the ball off the glass.
