About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

ESPN Evaluation:

This little guy is a helluva football player and while he may not be very big and may not time out great in the forty, he plays large and has very good play speed. Veal is equally capable of playing either running back or cornerback at the next level. He is tough and very feisty-- plays with a chip on his shoulder and you love his ability to cut, plant and accelerate from stop to start on both sides of the ball. We think he will be a cornerback as his feet, hips and toughness make him the ideal candidate to not only play on the perimeter, but also inside over the slot. He shows a smooth pedal and can plant and drive very quickly. Accelerates to the ball and shows good diagnose and recognition skills. You love his ability to plant and come forward with no wasted steps. He sees things happening, can track the ball and is very responsive in run support. Fills quickly, breaks down and will wrap up. He plays big and will deliver a blow upon contact. He also has very good upside as a return man in time. He is going to have to hit the weightroom so that his body will be able to keep up with his style at the next level. Veal is a sleeper prospect in this class and in a few years, someone is going to have a very good football player on their hands.

Rival$ 6.13.07 “Veal Visits a Trio of Camps"

Check out the Rivals article to find out what camps Kenny visited and what schools are recruiting him.  Kenny says this of time at Miami’s camp:

That was really good, I showed off there. They were very interested and appear to be close to offering. I like them because it’s close to home and would allow me to be around my family."
