The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).
Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2008 PROSPECT: Jay (or "J.R.") plays DB and RB in High School but projects as a RB in college. An very fast runner who can also punish defenders. Terrific student with a 4.0 GPA. Also runs track for Reynoldsburg (100m/200m/relay). As a Junior, he rushed for 1,251 yards on 199 attempts—a 6.3 yards per carry average—and developed a reputation for running with speed and power. Taylor averaged more than six-yards per carry. Miami offered early but the likes of Indiana, Northwestern and other B10 schools interested.

Taylor injured his ankle Aug 31 and that kept him from producing his Senior season. Taylor also considered Harvard, Northwestern and Ohio.
