About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2007 PROSPECT: Kevin is a 2G/SF who can do it all.  He played H.S. ball at Northern H.S. in Flint, MI and has been at Mott CC for the past two years.  Here's a quote from his coach, Steve Schmidt:

"Kevin is a big time athletic, tough, and talented kid who is improving every day. He doesn't have a set position.  You just play him and he competes relentlessly. He's an impact kid who I love to coach. I like our chances in any game with him on the floor. He's genuine and he works so hard and has so much heart. We get kids from different backgrounds and some kids are more affluent than others. I'm not sure how much Kevin has, but he appreciates and does the most with what he has--that's why I respect him.  I absolutely loved coaching him."
Tiggs had 32 points and 12 rebounds in the Division II National Championship game and was named the National Tournament MVP (averaging 22 points per game).  Here are all the accolades Tiggs received this past season: MCCAA Player of the Year, MCCAA All-Defensive Team, Regional Tournament MVP, National Tournament MVP, National Player of the Week, National All-Star selection.
