2007 PROSPECT: Clark played last season at a prep school and now Mississippi State, Western Kentucky, Eastern Kentucky, Morehead State, Furman, Marshall and Miami have all shown interest. The 6-3 junior averaged 25 points in helping lead the school to the 14th Region title this past season. Flawless shooter. Can shoot with unlimited range. Can shoot from spot and equally effective off dribble.

Clark has been offered to walkon by Kentucky and was a guest of UK Billy Gillespie during the UK-Florida game. He also recently visits Eastern Kentucky. Marshall and Tennessee are involved.
OF NOTE: Clark Stepp finished his career with 3,070 points and 1,040 assists. He’s the only boys’ player in Kentucky history to surpass the 3,000-point mark and 1,000-assist mark for his career. Clark Stepp was the 29th player in the state to reach 3,000 points.
Clark comes from a famous Kentucky basketball family. Uncle Ervin Stepp was Mr. Basketball in 1980 and ranks 9th all-time with 3,228 points. Uncle Ervin averaged 53.7 points his senior. Joe Stepp, Clark’s father, led the state in scoring in 1972. Another uncle, Jimmy Stepp, was the state’s top scorer in 1978. A 2nd uncle Ervin, was led the state in 1979 and 1980. Finally, his uncle Gary Stepp led Madison Central High School in scoring in 1983. QUITE A FAMILY BASKETBALL TRADITION!

Stepp transfers
Former June Buchanan All-State player Clark Stepp has left Austin Peay after one season and will finish his basketball career at the University of the Cumberlands.
The 6-foot-3 guard played in 12 games for the Governors and averaged 0.9 points a game.
Stepp is the only player in Kentucky prep history to score over 3,000 career points and dish out over 1,000 career assists. He averaged 25 points and seven assists for June Buchanan during his senior season after leading the Crusaders to the Sweet Sixteen during his junior season.
