About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2008 PROSPECT:Dysert is a three-year starter for Division VI Ada. As a freshman, Dysert threw for over 2,000 yards while eclipsing 2,500 yards as a sophomore. Against Paulding his sophomore season, Dysert tied Tavares Bolden (Cleveland Glenville), Ben Roethlisberger (Findlay) and Rocky Pentello (Westerville South) for second in the OHSAA record book for TD passes in a game with 8. Last season, he was 299-of-458 passing for 3,832 yards with 31 TDs through the air, 8 rushing TDs and 14 INTs. His 3,832 yards rank him No. 8 in the OHSAA record book for most passing yards in a season and his 31 TDs rank him No. 28 for passing touchdowns in a season. In addition, he ranks No. 8 for individual passing yards in a game (517), has passed for over 400 yards in a game 8 times and is ranked No. 17 for passing yards in a career (5,974). Following his breakout junior season, Dysert earned Northwest Conference player of the year, 1st team All-Ohio honors and Division VI offensive player of the year among many other in-season awards. Dysert will be featured in USA Today as one of the top 50 players in the country in the class of 2008.

Ranked as a *** and as the #31 Prospect by Ohio High Recruiting Editor Duane Long in his May 2007 rankings.

Ada is not the acronym for something. It is a place here in Ohio. Recruiters will need to find it. Every year there are players that I see in the top 100 that I peg as players that could move the most by signing day of their senior year. Dysert tops that list. About the only question I can see with Dysert is the level of competition. He has all the tools. He is 6-4 which seems to be the minimum requirement for most of the big schools, and he may be closer to 6-5. He has a really good arm. I saw him make every throw that you would want – he can throw the long ball and the deep out with velocity. I was very impressed with his coolness under fire.  We talk about a quarterback being a field general. This kid looks the part. There is a Peyton Manning-quality about him. He is mechanically very sound, setting his feet and delivering the ball over the top.

There are a lot of things to like about Dysert as a pocket passer. He has ideal size and can see the field, he shows the ability to make all the necessary college throws and he shows good understanding of touch and timing on many different throws. Reminds us a little of last year’s Pat Bostick, only not as polished. He lacks explosive quickness or speed, but he is a decent athlete for his size and he can be a solid passer when improvising on the run. He isn’t afraid to take a hit when stepping into a throw and he shows good overall toughness for the position. Shows good poise. Has a smooth delivery and shows the ability to change ball speeds on underneath throws. Doesn’t shows elite zip, but has enough power to get the ball outside of the numbers or vertically when on time. He is a pocket guy that must be protected to be at his best at the next level. We worry a little about the amount of time he spends in the shotgun- must learn to work through progressions while dropping back and scanning the field. Dysert’s release is not always consistent and when he tries to add touch, he becomes a sidearm thrower. Overall, Dysert has a chance to become a solid college QB in time, but will be considered a pcoket guy only.
