About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

2007 PROSPECT: Hazelwood, the St. Louis powerhouse has turned out a ton of Div IA players and this past season is no exception. Merriweather had an early offer from Missouri and Indiana. Merriweather ran for 1,421 yards and 25 TD's as a junior. Thomas boasts an uncanny combination of speed and vision that made him one of the top backs in Missouri the past few years. He rushed for more than 1,000 yards as a senior and is rated as the No. 39 back in the nation by Rivals.com. Merriweather was named St. Louis Post-Dispatch first-team all-metro. He became the starting running back midway through his sophomore season; Merriweather can bench press 185 X 15 and claims a 30" vertical jump. This All-State RB has just surfaced on the Miami radar.  Miami coaches recently visited Hazelwood H.S. and Thomas now says he’ll take an official visit to Miami (along with NIU, Kansas and Ball State).  Expect a decision from Merriweather in January after he’s done with his official visits.
