2007 PROSPECT: Rodney, origianlly from Georgetown, Kentucky where he played at Scott County H.S. has been described as a physical freak. He’s a 2-sport all-State athlete (both football and basketball) as a junior. He averageed over 20 points a game in basketball and has a vertical leap that exceeds 38 inches. Haddix gave up football (being recruited by SEC and B10 schools as a WR and S) to concentrate on basketball. He was ruled ineligible at Scott County (because of exhausting his eligibility) so he transferred to the brand new Findlay Prep in Henderson, Nevada. Named to the All-Tournament team at the 1st Annual Stoneridge Holiday Prep Classic in December 2006. Here’s the list of players that made the all-tournament team:
MVP:Nyal Mac Ksohawal 6’9" Sr. (Boys to Men/Chicago IL) DEPAUL; Jeremiah Kelly, 6’ JR (Boys to Men/Chicago); Leon Freeman, 6’3" SR (Boys to Men/Chicago); Angelo Johnson, 5’10" JR (Stoneridge School/Simi Valley, CA); Charles Boozer, 6’4" SR (Stoneridge School/Simi Valley, CA) IOWA STATE; Craig Rackins 6’9" SR (Brewster Academy/Wolfeboro NH) IOWA STATE; Terrell McKenzie, 6’1" SR (Brewster Academy/Wolfeboro NH); Devin Ebanks, 6’7" JR (St. Thomas More/Oakdale CT); Justin Sofman, 6’3" SR (St. Thomas More/Oakdale CT) RUTGERS; Calvin Hayes 6’2" SR (South Kent/South Kent CT) OREGON STATE; Rodney Haddix, 6’3" SR (Findlay Prep/Henderson NV)
Here’s a scouting report from Gym Rat Unlimited 2005
A fun player to watch, spends a great deal of time standing around — at the foul line. Haddix constantly attacks the lane and knows how to put defenders in vulnerable positions. A basketball and football star as a freshman for Scott County High School. Haddix has plenty of exciting times ahead.
Here’s a scouting report from Prephoopsonline.com from 12.13.05
Had a great first half and had some highlight dunks and made some strong moves to the rack on the break. Very strong and from the neck down looks like Michael Jordan (and that has nothing to do with the fact he wears jersey #23). We heard he could go FB in college since he is one of the top DB’s and RB’s in the state.

This wing is very athletic, strong and plays bigger than he is. Super going to the hole. Shoots well on the move. Good on the ball defender. Word is he will go to Hargrave Academy, but that is not confirmed.
Here’s a scouting report from Dave Telep 7.16.06
The Kentuckian you will play next year at Hargrave is an excellent mid-major wing player. A strong shooter from mid-range, he can knock down the “3” and has an athletic frame.Won the Best Underclassman Award while playing for the "High Potential" All-Star Team at the 2005 "Blue Chip" Basketball camp.
Considered the #9 player in Kentucky by Kentucky Basketball Report Online as of 2.6.07
Considered the #8 player in Kentucky by Rival$.com 9.10.05
Explosive jumper, quick and strong. Has tremendous rise on jump shot, tough to defend. Has improved range to 15 feet. Limited shot creation off dribble offset by ability to slash and finish at the rim. Top offensive rebounder at height. Can defend post and perimeter.

Findlay went 1-2 in the Stoneridge Holiday Prep Classic in Southern California with a victory against 4th ranked South Kent and played tough against top ten competition. Rodney made the All-Tournament team averaging over 18 points and 6 rebounds a game but his heart was much bigger than his numbers. A great example of how he played was in the Brewster game where he dove for a ball and his shoulder popped out and he rocked it back into socket and continued on. He held Brewster’s Creighton-bound P’Allen Stinnett to 3 points while he lead Findlay with 24 points. Findlay Prep Blog

On December 14th, Rodney scored 19 in a 96-76 win over Durango H.S. However, the next two games, Findlay lost to prep power Hargrave 88-75. The good news was that all that talent on Hargrave couldn’t stop Rodney as he went off for 22 points the first game and 18 points (5 assists) the 2nd game. Findlay Prep Game Recap

In late December 2006, Rodney was on fire from 3-point range scoring 20 points and leading Findlay over Scripps Ranch 69-49 in the “Above The Rim” Tournament as reported by the San Diego Times

Rodney Haddix, was doing well at Findlay Prep in Las Vegas before he broke his foot right after the Christmas break. It was a season-ending injury.
"Rodney was playing great. He was averaging 17 points a game and was our most consistent competitor."-Findlay assistant Mike Pecks said.
Kent State, Miami, Ball State, George Mason, EKU and WKU are interested in Haddix, who is back home in Scott County but may return to Findlay as a post-graduate player next season.
