The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2007 PROSPECT: This WPIAL all-star has been a fast riser in the recruiting circles of late. Bobo, snagged some early offers and has seen the likes of Miami, Pitt, Penn State, Akron, Toledo, WV, Syracuse, UConn, and Maryland come on of late. Played mostly CB, Bobo is still learning the WR position.Penn State coaches Joe Paterno and Tom Bradley have made in-school visits to talk with Bobo and West Virginia and Pittsburgh have sent coaches. Fitz also plays bball and his father was a 4-year starter at Duquesne. $cout.com recruiting expert Bob Lichtenfels says this of Bobo:

Give this kid two years and look out. He is still learning the game."

Here’s one analysis of Bobo:

Summary: Great size and superior athletic ability puts Bobo in the upper echelon of wide receiver recruits. Friends with Duquesne teammate Elijah Fields and would be interested in playing with him at Pittsburgh. Big time prospect.  Fitz Bobo is a Plaxico Buress-type of reciever. he does not have blazing speed like Fields, but is a big play threat just like Fields. he will put on about 10-15 more pounds also. He will be (depending on the school situation) one of the top 3 players in the WPIAL class a this coming up season.

Also, Bobo was a first team all conference cornerback in 2005.

Fitz Bobo to Miami!

The 6-foot-4 1/2, 200-pound Bobo, who transferred to Duquesne as a junior after attending West Mifflin in 2003 and Waldorf (Md.) Westlake in ‘04, chose Miami over Cincinnati and Temple. West Virginia also was showing strong interest.

Fitz’s coach had this to say about Bobo:

"He had a fine year,” Duquesne coach Pat Monroe said. “He made big catches, big plays for us. He’s a very smooth and graceful athlete with very good hands. When you have an athlete with good hands who’s 6-foot-4 who can go up and catch the ball, that’s what coaches like about him."
