The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Micky Masucci

Mickey Masucci will be vying for the top spot in the Midlands as a kicker in 2005, and thus far, there is no denying his argument as the best in the region. The month of May has seen many schools express interest in Mickey, and one the Iowa Hawkeyes coaches stopped by his school. Masucci will will be attending their special teams camp on June 11th. Besides Iowa, Mickey is also tenatively scheduled to attend camps at Missouri and Northwestern, both of whom are currently included in his list of schools. “Right now, the main schools of interest for Mickey are Iowa, Stanford, Missouri, Wisconsin, Northwestern, Arkansas, and Miami,” stated the elder Masucci.

Won the the highly regarded Chris Sailer’s field competition against several of the nation’s top prep and junior college kickers in 2004.
2005 STATS: Converted 7 of 12 field goals (3 blocked; other two far left). Converted field goals from 18,32,37,38,43,47,49 yards out. Had 33 touchbacks, and led St. Louis area with a 59.67 kickoff average. Converted 24 of 25 extra points. Kicked 37 punts in averaging 37 yards per punt. Only four punts (2 games) had any returns. Over the last five games, he averaged 40 yards per punt.

Considered the top kicker in the Midlands, Mickey Masucci is still awaiting his first scholarship offer.  However both Texas and Arkansas want Micky to walk-on to compete for a ‘ship.  Both Miami and Stanford have contacted the Mascucci family and have indicated that they are in the process of picking a kicker, and Mickey is under strong consideration.
