About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2007 PROSPECT: A beast downlow, Tim plays with an incredible amount of heart and emotion. Soft hands, a physical style and improving skills are keys to his game. Played on Simeon’s sophomore team with coach Bob Hambric not allowing freshmen to play varsity. Also a star on the football field.  Plays AAU with Meanstreets

Illinois Prep Bullseye evaluation:

While Rose was the MVP of his team’s opening pool play victory, Flowers was clearly the difference in Mean Streets Express’ second game of the day, which resulted in a blowout victory over the Illinois Bobcats.  Simply put, the Bobcats didn’t have an answer for Flowers, as he dominated the paint area and as a result was scoring at will.  It is all about matchups when it comes to Flowers.  When he has the advantage he is almost impossible to stop in the low post.  Flowers has also gotten much better facing up along the baseline and has shown that he can knock shots down when used in that capacity.  Size hampers him a bit at the next level, but he plays with enough reckless abandon around the basket to certainly project as an ideal mid-major prospect.

more from illinois prep bullseye:

Flowers hurt his back the second day of camp and missed a couple of games, but he came back strong and had a most solid camp.  He knows what he is, which is an absolute beast inside.  In addition to having excellent footwork, Flowers uses his body well in the post, which explains why he is an effective low post scorer.  A tireless worker, Flowers crashes the boards and can undoubtedly defend against bigger post players.  With all of this being said, in our minds Flowers is an ideal mid-major prospect.

One of the top performers at this past AAU Peach Jam:

The Mean Streets Express didn’t win the Peach Jam with just guard play. They also had Flowers, an undersized post player, controlling the inside with his strength and steady hands. Flowers consistently dominated bigger and more highly ranked opponents on the boards and also contributed some scoring along the way.

His 21 rebound performance in the championship game enabled Derrick Rose and Eric Gordon to get out on the break, and it secured more than a 3 rebound margin per game over any other rebounder.

Hoopville Evaluation

Undersized power forward has a big body and moves it well, making him very tough to defend inside. He went for 26 points in an early win, including several key free throws in the final minute. Mid-major plus prospect.

Galaxy of Stars Basketball.com has Tim rated the #79 player in the nation
