The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2007 PROSPECT: Council plays DE/TE for the Panthers and makes it very difficult for teams to get the corner. Morris has attracted the attention and offers from several schools. Fully qualified with a 3.5 GPA and a 1240 SAT. Had 99 tackles and 6 sacks as a Junior. Morris’s father indicates that Morris has:

“over 20 offers from MAC, Big-12, MWC, SBC, CUSA & several Division 1-AA schools. He had an official visit to Toledo on 12/15/06 and will visit Miami (OH) on 1/12/07. Some of his other achievements include All AJC Class AAAA All-State Honorable mention, All Dekalb/Rockdale County 1st Team Defense & Offense, 3.50 G.P.A

Morris to Miami!

SW DeKalb’s Council commits to Miami (Ohio)

Southwest DeKalb defensive end Morris Council won’t be heading to Ohio State this weekend for a visit, after all.

Instead, the 6-foot-4, 245-pounder committed to Miami (Ohio) on Thursday.

“I found about at our sports banquet Thursday night,” Southwest DeKalb coach Buck Godfrey told the AJC. “He actually called them earlier in the day and accepted the offer.”

Council had also been recruited by Florida A&M, Georgia Southern and Toledo. He had scheduled a trip to Columbus for this weekend but canceled after committing to Miami.
