2006 PROSPECT: Originally from Gary, Indiana, Marcus played at Wallace H.S. before transferring to Cincinnati’s Harmony Prep (originally CCA). While at Wallace H.S., Marcus was a contender for Indiana’s Mr. Basketball award Cincy Enquirer 2.26.05. During his Senior season at CCA, Marcus averaged 23 ppg and shot lights out from 3-point range and was invited to be a prop 48 at Indiana sit out the 2005 season and once eligible to be on scholarship with the Hoosiers starting the 2006 season. Instead of going to Indiana, Marcus chose to attend CCA , now called Harmony Prep, for 5th season. However, Marcus had a reduced role in his prep year because of the tremendous talent Harmony had a the G position (Tyronne Appleton signed LOI to Va. Tech, Deonta Vaughn signed LOI with Cincinnati, and Josh Tabb signed an LOI with Tennessee). Nevertheless, Marcus received his share of minutes averaging 16 ppg and was a ball-hawk on defense as he was 2nd in the nation in steals. Most recently, St. Johns, South Florida and TCU have been involved in the recruitment of Rhodes.
