Ben’s first game of the season was a record setting performance. The Warhawks won a defensive and punting battle 10-0 against Dublin Jerome. Field position from Ben’s punting ultimately played a major role in Central’s victory. Ben also kicked a 47 yard field goal for a new Central High School record. He had six punts (all spirals) for a 40+ yard average and all three of his kickoffs were into the endzone for touchbacks; the longest was a bomb 9 yards deep into the endzone with a 4.3 hang time! Ben was selected special teams player of the week by his coaches.

Despite the rainy, windy and muddy conditions on Friday night, Ben made two field goals including a 54 yard bomb that split the center of the uprights. He also had a 60 yard punt. Ben purposely trains in poor weather and on a muddy field when he can to handle such conditions.
Ben made an unofficial recruiting visit to Ohio State during the Penn State game. Purdue has been stepping up its contact as well.
