About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Interest from Miami, Illinois and Northwestern among others. Cook is considered one of the top K/P’s in the State of South Dakota. kicking guru Chris Sailor (a former UCLA and San Francisco 49ers kicker is considered one of the nation’s top kicking guru’s) says that Trevor gets the ball out fast and may be the steal of the year as far as kickers go.

Cook says he is a Redhawk!

The campus is beautiful. The coaches are really nice. They have nice facilities. I like that part of the country. I went there when they played Bowling Green and I was out there in the summer.

The Redhawks were the first to offer Cook a scholarship. But he was also drawing interest from Michigan, Minnesota, Northwestern, Stanford, Oregon State, and North Dakota State.

Cook made four of six field goals during his senior season including one from 56 yards. He also connected on 52 of 55 extra points.

The 6-foot-2 and 180 pound Cook also averaged 36 yards per punt, but will concentrate on kicking for the Redhawks.
