About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Mark is talented, athletic and a very active player for Strongsville. Is athletic enough to play TE in college but it appears Miami is recruiting Mark as a DT. No doubt this young man will have to spend a season with Coach D but he has the quickness and athletic ability that Miami coaches love. Also plays Hockey for Strongsville. Heavy interest from BC, IU, and Akron. Has offers from Akron, Ball State, and Ohio.

"Miami was always on my short list,” Paun said. “When the process started, I had about six schools that were recruiting me heavily, including people like Boston College, Army and Akron. But when they came to the table with an early offer, and I saw how great it was, there was no reason to hold back.  “I told them Miami was always where I wanted to go, so I went ahead and committed."

Paun, who could play defensive end, defensive tackle or nose guard in college, said he was recruited by Matt Hohman for the Red Hawks.

"He’s just a great guy,” Paun said. “He’s sharp and knows what he’s doing. I’ve had a good time getting to know him. I’m going to take my visit up there on December 2."
