About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

Aaron Brown

Position WR Height 6-2 Weight 205 40 speed 4.4 School Burrell Hometown Pittsburgh Incoming Year 2006

Initially posted by NickSkin on 10/20/05 at 11:08 am

Aaron plays both WR and DB and has blazing speed.  Names as a pre-season All-State HM.  Plays in the AA WPIAL Allegheny Conference.  Aaron finished his junior season with 31 receptions for 722 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, he had 50 tackles and 12 picks. He benches 245 pounds, squats 350 and has a vertical jump of 34 inches.  Says Aaron:

"I have good hands. I don’t drop balls. I also like to go up and get the ball. I’m aggressive and very athletic. I like the challenge of getting the ball. I’d rather work for it and fight for it than just be open. I still need to get faster and quicker after the catch. I also want to improve my awareness about what’s going on on the field."

This season, Brown has even more impressive numbers. He’s grabbed 25 receptions for 731 yards and 11 touchdowns. His yards-per-catch average: 29.2.

Aaron Brown, a 6-foot-2, 205-pound senior, is averaging a remarkable 28.6 yards per catch as a wideout for the Buccaneers (6-1, 4-1 Allegheny). He has 19 receptions for 543 yards.  Brown also is a cornerback and kick/punt returner who has scored 17 TDs four ways: one rushing, nine receiving, five on returns, two on interceptions. And his numbers would be better if he weren’t leaving blowout victories early.  “Aaron is just a phenomenal athlete,” said Bucs coach Tom Henderson. “He has very good speed and exceptional quickness.  “I don’t think there’s a better receiver around. I’ve never coached one, or been around one, who was better.” Henderson said Brown has been offered a scholarship by Temple, and that Marshall and other Division I programs are interested.  Pitt would be an appropriate suitor. Brown’s father, John, played for the Panthers and caught the winning TD pass in the 1982 Sugar Bowl. Aaron’s brother John, a lineman, is a freshman being redshirted at Pitt. And their uncle, Tom, was a Pitt fullback in the 1980s.
