A well put together athlete, Eldridge specializes in scoring the basketball. He can both shoot it from the outside and put it on the floor. Has the ability to be a solid defender, but needs to improve his handling and passing skills. As a JR, he averaged 24pts, 10 rbs, 7 ass for Phillips. Had huge performances during July at the adidas Superstar Camp (named an all-star at the camp) and the adidas Super 64. Miami (offer) is very interested as is Cal, Florida, Tulane (offer), Illinois State (offer), Marquette, Dayton (offer), Creighton (offer), NIU (offer) and Bradley (offer).
Here’s what Frank Rusnick of highschoolelite.com says about Osiris: “An extreme athlete, Osiris is a highlight waiting to happen. He can put the ball on the floor and has an improving outside shot.”
Chicago Hoops has Osiris as a top 10 player in Illinois. Here are the comments by Chicago Hoops: “one of the best athletes in the Illinois Class of 2006. He is a big time slasher who has the ability to step back, and knock down shots with range out beyond the three-point arc.” Eldridge told ChicagoHoops.com that he is going to take his time in making a collegiate decision. He is still very open to hearing from new schools. In the near future, Eldridge will sit down with his high school coach, narrow down his list, and schedule visits to college campuses.
wearedepaul.com says this of Osiris: “Eldridge is currently a senior at Phillips High in Chicago. Osiris is very athletic and plays smothering defense.”
Osiris won the “prestegious” Dow Jones Award from ilprepbullseye.com. Here’s what they had to say: “There were plenty of worthy candidates for this award, but Eldridge wins it largely because of how he has played against top level competition throughout the summer. Although there are still other players on his Illinois Fire AAU squad that get more ink, in many ways Eldridge has proven to be the team’s most consistent performer. Simply put, Eldridge plays with an overwhelming amount of confidence and has no fear. He is athletic, can consistently get to the rack, and can defend. We absolutely love his work ethic and Eldridge has also spent a good amount of time in individual workout sessions. There is no question that the hard work is paying off, which is why he is presently receiving a ton of interest from schools at both the high and mid-major level. *- The Dow Jones Award goes to the player who has most significantly raised his stock during the summer.
