About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

as a junior in 2004 was named as an all conference and all area performer for the 2004 Class 8A state champion Trojans.  placed 7th overall in the state track finals in the shot put.  NIU offered (want Jack as a C) in June while a host of other schools continue to evaluate.  Central Michigan, Northwestern, Purdue and both Harvard and Brown have been involved for awhile with Miami and Iowa have become involved recently.

Chicago Tribune has Jack as one of its top 100 and top OL in the area.

In this Chicago Sun Times article, Joliet-based recruiting analyst Tim O’Halloran described how colleges are looking for “Linemen [who] have to be able to move. Colleges want linemen with agility, mobility and flexibility. There is a lot more than being big and heavy. Colleges want kids with big frames that they can bulk up.” Halloran suggests that the Chicago area has at least 3 of these type players including Jack:

Three area seniors O’Halloran thinks fit the mold of what colleges are looking for are 6-7, 283-pound Perry Dorrestein of Plainfield Central, who was offered a scholarship by Nebraska; 6-4, 255-pound Jack Brady of Downers Grove North; and 6-5, 310-pound Ramone Johnson of Morgan Park.

Jack has scheduled 2 official visits (Harvard 12/2 and Miami 12/9).  He recently went to Purdue for the Illinois game and would have a difficult time bypassing a Boilermaker offer.  Toledo just offered.
