Jerome Randle

Position PG Height 5-8 Weight School Hales Franciscan Hometown Chicago Incoming Year 2006

Initially posted by NickSkin on 04/30/05 at 1:47 pm

Jerome is a lightning pg.  Speed, speed and more speed is what Jerome supplies on the court. On both ends of the floor, he uses his quickness to create for his teammates and on the opposite end to create havoc for the opposing team’s point guard.  One scout described Randlel as: “... one of the quickest point guards in the country with the ball in his hands.” Played a role in Hales’ 2003 Class A state title run. Hoopscoop has Randall ranked as the #337 player in the nation.  Ranked as the #20 player (overall) in Illinois and the #6 PG in the State.
UPDATE 5.5.05: Was an all-conference performer as a junior, helped lead his team to the Illinois Class A title this past year. Hales Franciscan finished the season with a 30-4 record, with the four losses coming to Class AA powers, Farragut, Westinghouse (twice) and Harvey Thornton.  As a junior, Randle averaged 12.3 points, 5.2 assists and 1.3 rebounds, while shooting 45.1-percent overall from the field, 39.3-percent from behind the arc and 80.7-percent from the free throw line.  Although Randle can score and is a good shooter, his strengths are in his overall knowledge of the game, his quickness and pin-point passing.  “My biggest strength has to be my speed,” explained Randle. “I can create havoc on both offense and defense because I am so quick. I’m a gym rat and have always spent a lot of time in the gym working on all aspects of my game. I would have to say that passing is another strong point.” Randle plays AAU ball with the Chicago Ferrari Youth Basketball team and impressed many college coaches and recruiting analysts at the Kingwood Classic, including Hoopmasters’ recruiting expert Van Coleman.  Coleman rated Randle as one of the top surprises at the event and stated, “this heady floor general has quicks to attack the hoop and a solid stroke from three to keep the defense on its heels. He is a good passer who sees the court and delivers rock. Wall attend the Nike All-American Camp this summer.  He is an outstanding student and member of the National Honor Society.  Randle has no offers but has interest from Miami, Illinois, Michigan State, Florida State, California, Tulsa, Northwestern, Western Illinois, Northern Illinois, Utah and Dayton
UPDATE 5.11.05:  Prepspotlight has ranked Jerome the #14 PG in the midwest.  Has an offer now from Tulane and thinks an offer from Cal may be on the way.  Randle loves high tempo offense as he is always the fastest player on the Court.

In one of the best performances this season on the summer basketball circuit, Chicago Ferrari point guard Jerome Randle (Chicago Hales Franciscan) dropped 44 points and 11 assists on the New York Gauchos in a double overtime win.  Words cannot fully describe the show that the 5-7 Randle put on at the Disney Wide World of Sports Complex. With Ferrari trailing by 7 points in the fourth quarter, Randle dropped a pair of three-pointers, and scored on a drive to the hole, all in a span of 30 seconds to put his team up by one.  Randle continued his one-man assault, and proceeded to put Ferrari ahead by 8 points. All told, in the fourth quarter, Randle took his team from a 7-point deficit, to an 8 point lead in just over 3 minutes!  Depaul and Illinois are involved

Tulsa, Dayton and California are all very much on Randle’s radar screen, and are all recruiting him very hard. Miami, EMU, Western Illinois, Illinois State, Miami, Akron and NIU are among the schools that have also offered scholarships.
