2012 PROSPECT:  He’s sprouted 7½ inches in the last three years, is 6-11, 246 pounds and wears size-19 shoes.  In one 2 game span, he had 13 blocks.  ESPN Profile.....Bearcat Report eval from UD Team camp:

6 = Jake Campbell Centerville High School

Campbell has obvious deficiencies like strength and grit, but his game also shows exceptional skills.

The most impressive thing about Campbell's 6'11" body is that he can run all day. There are players with hands on their knees who could benefit from Campbell's wind, the motor impressive.

Running the floor at his height the junior will have plenty of crowd-rousing dunks in his future.

The best thing about watching Campbell play is the years of excellent coaching clearly absorbed by this young man. Though he can struggle to uproot shorter, stouter opponents, the Centerville Elk is always in the right place on the floor. He knows where to be at every moment, a skill that will save future coaches hours of instruction.
The technique demonstrated by Campbell warms the heart. He always blocks out, and establishes his position on the low block after every pass around the perimeter.

The shortcomings of his game are strength and jumping ability. When God blessed, or cursed depending on your perspective, Campbell with a nearly seven-foot body He made the vertical leaping a moot point. To dunk a basketball Campbell needs to jump about 15 inches. He can do that.

Growing up a foot taller than your best friends can be a scary world for athletes like Campbell and sometimes a basketball court is the only haven of peace. The big man's burden seems to have escaped Campbell though, as he relates well to his teammates.

The next step is establishing even better relationships with recruiting coaches across the region.
