Alex Perry

Position OL Height 6-6 Weight 260 School Morris Hometown Morris, IL Incoming Year 2006

Alex Perry in his 2004 junior season was named as an all area performer for the Redskins and head coach Dan Darlington. Perry is also a three sport athlete at Morris (football, basketball, track). Perry is an excellent student in the class room (4.58 GPA on a 5.0 scale). Perry has a great frame and will without question get bigger, thicker and stronger from here on out. On the field? Perry was one of several standout offensive linemen from Morris in 2004 that was just outstanding in opening holes all season long. Perry is an exceptionally skilled all around athlete, and seldom will you see a kid with this size move as well as Perry does at this level. Perry again has the frame and wingspan to end up playing at 300 pounds plus on the next level. Alex and his parents drove to Oxford on Sunday for an unoffiical and Alex decided to jump into Miami’s SR camp with 400 prospects. Here’s what he has to say about Miami: “Miami has an amazing campus. It really has a small town feeling, but the campus is plenty big enough for me. Miami is in the process of renovating it’s stadium and they are also building a new indoor facility. I also really liked the weight room at Miami. It’s really a great mix at Miami, and I’m planning to head back there later this summer for an unofficial visit.” After camp, Coach Montgomery offered Alex a scholarship. Perry now has offers from Miami, WMU and Akron. Alex is also being courted by Northwestern, GTech, Illinois, MSU, Purdue and Wisconsin

Top 3 for Alex: “I really like the Big Ten conference and it’s always been a dream of mine to play in the Big Ten. I like Indiana, Northwestern and Miami for now. Those would be my Top 3 so far this summer.”

Alex recently took an unofficial visit to IU and here’s what he had to say about his visit: The campus is just great at Indiana and I had a chance to really get a better feel for what the Hoosiers have to offer. I’m very excited about IU.”

Alex will take 1 more one-day camp to Northwestern this Friday.  Northwestner has not yet offered.

Northwestern will wait for SR tape before it considers offering.  IU leads slightly over Northwestern and Miami.
