About Miami Hawk Talk Recruiting Information

The recruiting information contained on this site is information about student/athletes BELIEVED to be targeted by Miami University for various varsity athletic sports. The lists are far from complete and are not officially endorsed in any way by Miami University, its coaches or administration.

These pages will be updated as information is made available. Information may not be complete or timely and is compiled by newspaper articles, internet recruiting sites, and, of course, by Miami Hawk Talk Field Reporters. Players may "verbally" commit to a program, however, such committment is not binding until officially executing a "National Letter of Intent" (NLI).

Miami coaches and or its staff are not permitted to discuss or comment on potential recruits until after the signing of a NLI. The signing period for fall sports such as football begins in early February and runs until early April; basketball and other winter sports have an early signing perdiod in mid-November and a late signing period from April to May.

2010 Prospect:  Marble is the son of Iowa's all-time leader scorer and current Big Ten Network personality Roy Marble, Sr.  He currently plays AAU ball with The Family which is based in Michigan.  Detroit, Buffalo, Providence, Iowa, and Fairfield have offered already.  Miami, Dayton, Michigan, Michigan State, Indiana, Oregon State, Duquesne, BGSU, WMU, CMU, Murray State, and Oregon.  He has visited Dayton, Iowa, and Providence.  He is set to visit Dayton again on Sunday or Monday.  After leaving Dayton, Marble will travel to Oxford and visit Miami.  He will then visit Michigan Tuesday.  He has also attended open gyms at Michigan State.  This past season he averaged 22 points and 9 rebounds a game.  RECENT STORIES: RedHawk Insider/Scout (06/18/09): Marble Jr. Talks Iowa Visit, Upcoming Trips....Cedar Rapids Gazette (06/13/09):Young Marble is a Chip Off The Old Block

Recruiting analyst and basketball camp conductor Van Coleman says the slender, 6-foot-5 Marble is a legitimate big-time prospect. “Right now he’s a Top 150-Top 175 type of kid,” Coleman said. “He’s a good athlete, though not at his dad’s level. He really understands how to play the game. That is a big-time player.” He makes total sense to be an Iowa recruit, said Coleman, because “He can shoot it, he fits what they do, he’s a legacy, and he upgrades them athletically. “I think they like him and Ben Brust (a 6-2 guard from Mundelein, Ill.).” Like any other dad, Marble Sr. can tick off the virtues of his son. “He’s 6-6 and he’s 16,” he said. “He could be 6-8 or 6-9, and he can play the 1 (point guard, 2 (shooting guard) or 3 (small forward). He doesn’t have an uncomfortable place on the court. I had some uncomfortable places. “I’ve always told him to be able to do everything. You can consider yourself a good player when the coach doesn’t take you out of a game for something you can’t do.”[/url]Cedar Rapids Gazette (06/17/09):  Iowa Offers Roy Marble, Jr. a Scholarship...Rivals (06/11/09): Marble Junior holds his own at open gym at State....Rivals (06/18/09): Marble, Jr. Gets Iowa Offer  ************* Scout.com Profile...Rivals.com Profile...ESPN Profile writes:
Evaluation <!-- FSP instance --> December, 2007: Another player with great blood lines as his father Roy Sr. was a McDonald's All-American in 1985 and the son seems to have got some of the same juice in his blood. Roy Jr. is a very athletic slasher capable of some highlight dunks and spectacular ESPN highlight type plays. His athletic ability is what first catches your eye but don't miss the solid skill package, too. He's a good off the dribble shooter to 15 feet and he has a solid handle. As his jumper and ball skills improve so will his national ranking. He's got all the tools.
