Former Indianapolis Star Indiana All-Star Larry Stone is on the move.

Stone said Tuesday that he will play basketball next season at Indian Hills (Iowa) Community College. A 2008 Howe graduate, Stone averaged 2.2 points and 1.2 assists in 18 games last season for IUPUI.

The 5-9 point guard said he was "disappointed" it didn't work out with the Jaguars.

"I was playing behind a senior and a sophomore and I felt like I was productive in the games I got to play," he said. "I didn't want to stick around and see if I was going to get my shot. I'm disappointed because I feel like a year was wasted, but I think I got a lot of knowledge about the game by being here."

Traditionally one of the strongest junior college programs in the country, Indian Hills was 30-3 last season. Stone, who averaged 22.8 points and 8 assists as a senior at Howe, said he plans to transfer to another Division I school after a year at Indian Hills.

Stone was academically ineligible for part of the first semester at IUPUI, but said he rebounded in the second semester with an A, two Bs and two Cs.

"I'm going to go up there, play my butt off, and see what happens," Stone said. "The goal is definitely to come back and play at a Division I school."
