Scholarship Situation
Miami currently has 1 scholarship to award to a player entering school in 2013 because of the graduation of Vince Legaraza and the release of freshman Roderick Lawrence- unless there are additional roster moves. The next signing period ("early period") will be April 11, 2012 to May 16, 2012 while the “regular” signing period will be November 14, 2012 - November 21, 2012. (updated 11.19.12).

Notes (UPDATED 4.29.13): Drew McGhee redshirted his true freshman season of 2009-10 and was reclassified to the graduating class 2014. However, he will graduate from Miami in May 2013 and be eligible immediately to play a graduate year at Kennesaw State. Jon Harris (2015) will transfer. Allen Roberts (2015) will transfer. Jared Tadlock (2015) will transfer. Bill Edwards transferred from Penn State and sat out the 2010-11 season thereby placing him in the graduating class of 2014 (However, Edwards may be eligible for an additional medical redshirt season-TBD). Will Felder transferred from St. Francis (PA) and sat out the 2011-12 season thereby placing him in the graduating class of 2014. 7' C John Hawkins transferred to Miami from Palm Beach Atlantic and will sit out the 2012-13 year (Scholarship situation is unknown). Miami added St. Joe's transfer guard Ryan Hess (scholarship situation unknown). On November 27, 2012, Miami signed Joshua Oswald (Class of 2017), a 6'7" forward from Australia to a LOI. On April 22, 2013, Miami signed 6'7" G Jaryd Eustace (Class of 2017) from Australia to a LOI. On April 24, 2013, it was reported that 6'10" C/F Blake McLimans (Class of 2014) will transfer from the University of Michigan and be eligible to compete immediately. There are currently five (3) available scholarships that could be awarded to players for the 2013-14 season. There are currently 5 players that will exhaust eligibility after the 2013-14 season (Bill Edwards is the only exception).
