Miami Splits Hayden Park Dedication Game with Kent
Miami dedicated the new McKie Field at Hayden Park on Sunday afternoon with decorations, a ribbon-cutting ceremony, commemorative giveaways, and a split over previously league-leading Kent State. The second game win by Miami forced the MAC tournament and regular-season championship to Bowling Green.
As opposed to the park’s inaugural game which was played as construction continued, the dedication game saw a polished facility, complete with a booming sound system, fully furnished picnic area, functioning restrooms, planted and potted plants, bunting draped everywhere, and no yellow ‘caution’ tape.
Unfortunately, the home season is now complete, so if you missed a game there this spring, you will have to wait until next year. But by all means, get to McKie as soon as you can to take in a game!
