Miami Downs IU, 8-5

Miami ran its winning streak to eight straight with an 8-5 victory over Big Ten foe Indiana University. Miami scored all eight runs in the first three innings, then held on to record its 22nd win of the season.

Senior Michael Carlin increased his career home run record with a deep home run to center field in the first inning. Junior Michael Gardner recorded his sixth save of the season, which ties him for second in the MAC. He also now owns the sixth-highest total for appearances in a season at Miami with 22.

Miami is back in action this weekend against Northern Illinois, where they hope to improve upon their 9-3 conference record.
