Incredible!

After losing two of three at Buffalo last weekend, Miami softball went to Kent State needing a 3-game sweep to earn their first MAC Tournament berth in 20 years.

Freshman Courtney Salmon pitched a two-hitter for a 1-0 win in Saturday’s opener and Jackie Poggendorf hit (4 for 4, 3RBI) and pitched the RedHawks to a 6-4 win in the second game.

With Sunday’s deciding game tied 1-1 in the top of the 7th, senior Angie Gerber hit a Grand Slam Homerun and the RedHawks held on for a 5-3 win and a spot in the 2003 MAC Tournament.
