Crank it up a notch
After a lethargic first half that left the RedHawks trailing Western Michigan 1-0, the SoccerHawks turned up the intensity to get their first MAC win of the season.
Junior Ashley Swinehart scored the first hat trick of her career to propel Miami past the Broncos 3-1 this afternoon. Swinehart’s goals came within a 16 minute span, in a variety of ways - off a corner kick, on a breakaway and on a rebound. Two of the goals were assisted by freshman Kathleen Vistica.
The win evened the RedHawks’ MAC record at 1-1 going into Sunday’s 1PM match with Northern Illinois.
