Springboro's Sullivan Commits to Miami

Thanks to NickSkin on the message boards for this juicy morsel of information: The Dayton Daily News is reporting that Springboro High School’s Kelsey Sullivan has verbally committed to Coach Maria Fantanarosa to come play basketball in 2002. Check out the link today, because in DDN fashion, the link will be another story tomorrow. In case you miss it, here are some of the highlights from the story:

"The 5-foot-11 shooting guard decided to attend Miami this week after seriously considering the University of Dayton and Ohio University.

” ‘It’s been a long process and the attention was nice, but I wanted to get it over with,’ said Sullivan, who will sign the letter-of-intent during the November signing period. ‘It came down to a feeling of staying close to home. I like Maria (RedHawks’ fourth-year coach Fantanarosa) a lot and she said I will have a chance to contribute early. I fell in love with the campus and felt comfortable there.’

"Sullivan has the size, grades (a 94 average on a 100 scale) and the shooting touch (14 points, 4 assists, 4 steals a game). One of the area’s top juniors last year, she was mentioned in USA Today last November as one of the top players to watch in Ohio and attracted serious attention from 30 schools.”
