Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Named National All-Academic Teams
Both the Miami University men's and women's cross country teams were honored by the US Track and Field/Cross Country Coaches Association as National All-Academic Teams this week. The men's team earned the honor with a team GPA of 3.26, ranked 32nd in the nation. Individually, junior Pat Sovacool was one of 56 cross country athletes named to the National Men's Cross Country All-Academic Team. Pat is a zoology major with a 3.58 GPA and he finished 12th at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet. The women's team earned the honor for the 14th consecutive year, with a GPA of 3.54, good for 30th in the nation.
In addition to excelling in the classroom both teams excelled on the track, with both squads finishing in the top 10 at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet - the women finished eighth while the men finished ninth.
