NMR: Ron Hunter to Coach Barefoot
On the Miami Memos board, DevilGrad has alerted us that IUPUI coach Ron Hunter will coach next Thursday’s game against Oakland University in his bare feet to bring attention to Samaritan’s Feet, a charity that provides shoes to poor people in Africa. Hunter hopes to collect 40,000 pairs of shoes in honor of the 40th anniversary of Martin Luther King’s assassination.
The story has already been on the “Mike & Mike” show this morning, and we suspect it will start getting a lot of positive press. If you want to help the cause, check out the Samaritan’s Feet website.
