Men's CC finishes in 9th place at Great Lakes Regional

The Miami men's cross-country team took 9th place (275 points) at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional meet on Saturday (Nov. 10th) in Bloomington, IN.  Wisconsin and Michigan tied for 1st place (68 points each) taking the two automatic qualifying team bids to the national championship meet.  Mid-American Conference champion Eastern Michigan took 7th place (230 points), while conference mate Kent State took 10th place (297 points). The individual champion was Patrick Smyth of Notre Dame, who covered the 10K course in 30:22.

The RedHawks once again were led by Pat Sovacool, who finished in 12th place with a time of 31:10.  Also scoring for the RedHawks were Brad Untrauer (37th, 31:51), Kevin Silver (59th, 32:33), Michael Veatch (79th, 32:55), and Adam Martin (88th, 33:12).

At-large bids for individuals and teams to the championship meet will be announced on Monday (Nov. 12th).  At the very least look for Pat Sovacool to represent Miami at the championship meet on Nov. 19th in Terre Haute, IN.
