MIAMI 60, Ohio 56
Three days after the Miami men took out Ohio, the Miami women capped a home sweep of the Bobcats with a much-needed 60-56 win Saturday. A 10-0 run midway through the second half erased a 5-point Bobcat lead and gave the RedHawks the lead for good. Tenacious defense helped Miami survive a sluggish first half of offense, and helped fuel the 10-0 run.
The win keeps the RedHawks’ hopes alive for a possible home court advantage in the MAC tournament’s first round.
This one was keyed by the freshmen. Point guard Jenna Schone led a balanced attack with 13 points, and Eve Pyle flirted with a double-double off the bench.
