MAC CHAMPS!
Congratulations to the Miami Softball team, your 2005 MAC Champions!
With a 5-2 win over Marshall on Sunday morning, the Softball Team went undefeated through the MAC tourney to claim the 2005 league championship and the MAC’s NCAA automatic bid. The bid is Miami’s first to the Big Dance, and a credit to Angie Jacob’s squad which has continuously built on the previous years’ accomplishments to go from cellar-dwellar to champs in only four years.
Jackie Poggendorf, Halle Popson, Kristen Hays, and Bianca Paz were all named to the all-tournament team. They, along with the rest of the team, will find out where and who they are playing this evening on ESPNews
Miami’s win over Marshall avenges earlier season losses to the Herd and sends the tournament favorites on their way to Conference USA without the benefit of MAC hardware.
