Most Recent Story: The season so far
It’s been a productive season so far for the Miami Synchronized Skating team, with the Collegiate and Senior teams entering three competitions and taking first in all three.
The winning began with the Dr. Porter Classic in Ann Arbor, MI on December 3. With a score of 62.24 under the USFSA’s new scoring system, the Senior RedHawks finished well ahead of black ice, who came in second with a 55.32, and the Crystallettes, who scored 46.38 to finish in third.
The Collegiate team completed the weekend sweep on December 4 by winning the collegiate division at the Dr. Porter Classic on Dec. 4. They were awarded first-place ordinals across the board. Finishing behind the RedHawks were Western Michigan in second and the University of Delaware in third.
Finally, on January 13, the Miami Senior took first place at the Mid-America Championships in Fraser, MI. With a score of 60.26, the RedHawks beat second-place finisher Team Fusion of the York (ON) Skating Club, who finished with a 50.93, and Team Elan of the Detroit Skating Club, who finished in third with a 44.62.
