Courtney Clarke
Our new Hawk of the Week is freshman soccer forward Courtney Clarke. Clarke had a hand in three of Miami's five goals this past weekend as she had one goal and two assists to help Miami sweep the weekend, 2-1 versus Kent State and 3-1 versus Buffalo.
Against the Flashes, Courtney scoreed her first career goal in dramatic fashion. With Miami having tied the match at 1-1 in the 86th minute, Courtney scored a breakaway goal in the 90th minute (with three seconds remaining) to give Miami its first MAC win of the season. Two days later, Miami hosted the Buffalo Bulls and Courtney had her first two collegiate assists in Miami's victory, a win that evened the RedHawks' MAC record to 2-2.
Miami continues its MAC schedule this weekend with a road trip to Toledo (2-2 in the MAC) and Bowling Green (2-1-1 in the MAC). The RedHawks then return home the weekend of October 17th for the final two home games of the season.
Congratulations to Courtney on the first goal of her Miami career as well as her first assists. Good luck to Courtney and Miami's soccer team the rest of the season, and congratulations to Courtney on being named our Hawk of the Week.
