Elizabeth Gilroy
Our new Hawk of the Week is senior field hockey midfielder Elizabeth Gilroy. Over the weekend, Elizabeth had a role in two of Miami's three goals with one goal and one assist as the RedHawks went 2-0 this past weekend. They beat Central Michigan 2-0 in their MAC opener and defeated Colgate 1-0. The two wins this weekend improved Miami's record to 5-1.
Versus Central Michigan, Elizabeth scored Miami's second point, an unassisted goal from point blank range. In Miami's win versus Colgate, Elizabeth assisted on Miami's only goal of the game. For the season, Elizabeth leads the RedHawks in goals (4), assists (tied for the lead with 3), and points (11).
Miami field hockey continues its season this weekend with the Miami September Showcase; participating teams include Indiana, Pacific, and Michigan State. Miami then continues its MAC schedule at Missouri State to round out the month of September.
